VIDEO PRODUCTION MINUTES – Tuesday April 3, 2007

ATTENDANCE: Angela, Denae, Jay & Jose 5:30-7:00 PM.

CAMERA USEAGE WORKSHOP DETAILS:

During our second video production meeting we initially discussed the Camera Usage Workshop details.

Our first scheduled date was cancelled due to the availability of members of the class (This date was originally scheduled for today). The workshop WILL be taking place on Thursday April 5, 2007 from 5:30-7:30 PM.

Angela then made a poster in order to encourage attendance to the workshop. We plan to hang these up today (To get the word out before Thursday).

TALENT SURVEY DISCUSSION:

We then went on to discuss the talent survey, and found that the majority of our talented classmates are available Thursdays at 6:30 PM. We are hoping to organize our workshops as well as Video Production Meetings around this time. In particular we are hoping to rope in Peter, Aaron, and Sam for the Video Editing workshop.

Jay plans to send an E-mail to Peter, Aaron, and Sam inviting them to our next meeting, which is scheduled for Thursday April 12, 2007 at 6:30 PM. Anyone else that is interested in assisting with this is also welcome!

WHAT COMES FIRST DIGITAL STORY TELLING OR EDITING?:

We then went on to have a discussion about what order we should present our workshops. Does it make more sense to present “Digital Story Telling” first or “Video Editing”? We are hoping to run this idea by Fred during class tomorrow. We also think that Peter might be helpful in this area since he showed talent in both Digital Storytelling AND Editing. Once we figure this out we will be able to proceed with planning for the next workshop.

CONCRETE TO DO LIST:


We then went over some “to do” areas that we expect we be re-occurring with all of our workshops. Because we know that we are short on time (and have two more workshops to present) we created a list of the “Usual To Do’s” which includes a timeline-due date. These areas include:

Find Workshop Instructor
Reserve Room for Workshop
Make List of Equipment
Reserve Equipments
Decide Date and Time
Promotion of Workshop
Workshop Handouts
Print Flyers
Outreach

Jose plans to create a word document of these items which we hope to use for our future meetings.
